Board Members

 

Dr. Isaiah “Ike” McKinnon, Board Chair

Dr. McKinnon earned a Bachelor of History and Law Enforcement degree from the University of Detroit. He also earned a Master’s in Criminal Justice from Mercy College in Detroit, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Michigan State University. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the U.S. School of Secret Service.

Dr. McKinnon has served as Deputy Mayor and Chief of Police for the City of Detroit. He also has been part of the faculty of the University of Detroit Mercy.

He has served on the boards of Catholic Charities USA, Sacred Heart Major Seminary, and the Detroit Crime Commission.

Rev. Msgr. Dr. Charles “Chuck” Kosanke

Monsignor Kosanke earned a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Sacred Heart Seminary in 1981. He earned a Master of Divinity and a Master’s in Theological Studies from St. John Provincial Seminary in 1985. He earned a Licentiate (1990) and a Doctorate (1992) in Biblical Studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University, in Rome.

Since 2016 he has served as Pastor, of Most Holy Trinity, Corktown, and Rector of the Basilica of Ste. Anne de Detroit. He is the Moderator of the In Solidum team of priests leading the Southwest Vicarate 1. He has served at many parishes over the years including at St. Cecilia. He is currently Chairman of Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan, a position he has held since 2011.

Monsignor Kosanke has served on many non-profit boards and community organizations for more than 30 years.

Lory McGlinnen, Executive Director

Lory McGlinnen is the executive director of Ceciliaville, working to make the nonprofit’s vision a reality to help the area’s youth.  

Early in her career, Lory provided leadership training for local community organizations for three years. In 1993 she joined the Archdiocese of Detroit, where she continues to work. She has led strategic planning for parishes and Catholic schools as a department director. 

For over 20 years, she has administered approximately $1 million in annual parish and community organization grants. Lory assisted Archbishop Vigneron with his vision to bring six county agencies together to become the Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan and served on the board for ten years. She currently volunteers her time with several community organizations.

Lory earned a bachelor’s in communications from Michigan State University. She also has dual master’s degrees from MSU in resource development and urban studies.

Earl Cureton, Vice Chair

Mr. Earl Cureton earned a Bachelor of Science of Human Services from the University of Detroit Mercy.

He is a community ambassador for the Detroit Pistons organization where he played three seasons from 1983-86. Mr. Cureton played collegiately at Division I Robert Morris University before transferring to the University of Detroit Mercy for his final two seasons. Mr. Cureton is a member of both the Robert Morris and Detroit Mercy Hall of Fames.

He played for a total of 12 seasons in the NBA winning two championships.

Rev. Theodore K. Parker

Father Parker was born in Brooklyn, New York. He was ordained a Catholic priest in June 1972. He furthered his education earning masters’ degrees in History, Anthropology and Psychoanalysis.

As a priest, he was Catholic Chaplain at Fishkill Correctional Facility in Beacon, New York. Fr. Parker taught at Dutchess Community College and St. Mary’s College in Newburgh, New York. He was pastor of All Saints Church in Harlem, for 10 years.

As pastor of St. Cecilia Church since 2001, he was a member of MOSES (Metropolitan Organizing Strategy Enabling Strength) then a member of its Board from 2008-2013. He later became part of the Detroit Clergy Gathering which became DRIVE (Detroit Regional Interfaith Voice for Equality) from 2013—2017, an ecumenical group of churches and faithful working for social, economic and political equality.

Fr. Parker is a founding member of the Street Outreach Court Detroit organization designed to assist formerly incarcerated homeless men and women with minor offenses whose previous warrants prevented them from obtaining new employment.

From 2014—2016, he was a faculty member at Marygrove College teaching in the Social Justice Program. In 2013, the name of the parish, St. Cecilia, the home of Ceciliaville, was changed to St. Charles Lwanga Parish. He is currently a member of the In Solidum team of priests who pastor several Detroit parishes, including St. Charles Lwanga, that form the Trinity Vicariate Family 2.

Tyrel Kirkham

Tyrel Kirkham was named Chief Marketing Officer for the Big 12 in 2022. He oversees the Conference’s strategy on brand modernization, cultural marketing, student-athlete, organizational storytelling, and business ventures.

Tyrel spent two seasons with the NBA’s Detroit Pistons as Vice President of Brand & Marketing Strategy. He oversaw influencer and cultural marketing, game presentation, events, social media, and merchandising.

Before joining the Pistons, he spent two years with the Los Angeles Rams as Vice President and GM of Merchandising. Before his time with the Rams, he spent six years with the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center as Vice President of Global Merchandising. Tyrel also worked with the New York Mets for eight years as a member of their Venue Services department.

A 2005 graduate of State University of New York at Cortland, Kirkham earned his bachelor’s degree in sport and fitness administration/management.

Michael E. McInerney, Treasurer

Michael McInerney is the CEO of MKM Consulting, Inc., which is engaged in investment, development, and business and legal consulting, primarily in the real estate business. During his 40-year career, Mike has been involved in the private practice of law, the automotive supply business, real estate and hotel businesses, and various other endeavors.

Mike has been active in various charitable and civic organizations, including currently the Archdiocese of Detroit (former Finance Council member), the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit (board/executive committee member, former Board Chair), Ceciliaville (board member, treasurer), Recovery Park (board member), Inclusively Fit (board member), and St. Hugo Parish, Bloomfield Hills.

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a J.D. degree from Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State School of Law).

Mike resides in Clarkston, Mich., with his Kim, wife of 40 years. They have three adult children.

Most Reverend Donald F. Hanchon, ex officio

The Most Rev. Donald F. Hanchon was named a Monsignor by Pope Benedict XVI on October 19, 2005. Detroit Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron ordained him auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Detroit on May 5, 2011, and Titular Bishop of Orreomargo. Bishop Hanchon had served as pastor of Most Holy Redeemer Parish in southwest Detroit since 1999.

Bishop Hanchon was born in Jackson, Mich., in 1947. He was ordained a priest in Detroit on Oct. 19, 1974. He studied Hispanic culture in Mexico and San Antonio during the 1980s. Since then, Bishop Hanchon has served as pastor of several parishes in Detroit’s Hispanic community.

In September 2009, Bishop Hanchon was named episcopal vicar and regional moderator of the Central Region, which includes Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park.
